Workers are yellow and around 4 mm in length. Color yellow. Workers are difficult to distinguish from L. umbratus, but the sexual females differ by their relatively long, flattened scapes, which carry many long, erect hairs.
Commonly found in lowland sandy areas within tree trunks.
