Camponotus vagus is a species of Carpenter ant found in Central Europe, as well as in parts of Asia and Africa. Workers are up to 12 mm in length and this species has "major" and "minor" morphs in the worker caste.
The colonies are commonly found in dry habitats, especially open forests and forest edges where colonies will have up to 10,000 individuals.
